SAVE OUR
SPIRE! ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING.
As
a registered charity we are required to hold an Annual general meeting when
the Accounts and Annual Report are presented and approved and copies sent to
the Charity Commission.
Notice
is therefore given that the Annual General Meeting will be held on THURSDAY,
FEBRUARY 2nd AT 7.30pm in THE PARISH ROOM, ST GEORGES CHURCH, BROAD OAK
Everyone is welcome. Refreshments will be provided
CHRISTMAS
PARTY
Some 70 people attended this event to enjoy a wine tasting competition, entertainment,
raffle and three course meal. After deduction of expenses a total of £595.00
was raised. Grateful thanks to all the helpers and supporters for achieving
this successful result and an enjoyable evening.
GRANT FROM
HEATHFIELD AND WALDRON PARISH COUNCIL
At the December meeting of the Finances and General Purposes Committee our application
for a grant was approved and we are most grateful to the Council for a grant
pledge of £5000, available when the work on the spire is done. This is
a tremendous encouragement to the Committee.
FINANCIAL
SUMMARY
Other donations in December boosted our funds so that a total of £18,214
has been raised since our start. In addition the Parish Church spire fund contains
£6,864 so with gift aid tax rebates of £3,122 and the Parish Council
grant of £5,000 the total funds now available amount to £33,000.
We shall be working to raise the final £20,000 during £2006 and
will value your continued support.

COMMEMORATIVE WEEK 17th-24th JUNE, 2006.
Please keep this week booked in your diary so that we can make the most of Old
Heathfield’s place in history and welcome American visitors to stay in
our homes. Bed and Breakfast accommodation is needed for up to 25 visitors.

Country Lunches are served for elderly people living in the parish, their friends
and anyone else who would like to join us, in the Cricket Pavilion, Old Heathfield,
on alternate Fridays.
