Fund Raising Target
Achieved!
Its really good news that we have reached our target figure of £55,000
to repair the church spire and we hope this work will be completed during the
summer months. A big thank you to all who supported us in any way.
The American Visitors
Our recent fund raising activities have included the visit of the Americans
from Washington and Williamsburg.
Residents of the parish and village offered free hospitality to our visitors and together we were able to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the departure of our vicar to America.
Sweepstake
We also ran a sweepstake based on the World Football Cup and through the sterling
efforts of all the Friends raised nearly £2500 in ticket sales.
We were delighted that the winning ticket ITALY TO COME FIRST was won by Aubrey
Lucas, one of our long standing parishioners who is now in his 97th year.
The picture below shows Aubrey receiving his cheque for £500 from Roger Kenward, Chair of the Friends; while John Brenchley, who masterminded the sweepstake and Ann Kenward look on.

Second prize of £100, FRANCE to come second , was won by Mark Cambridge
of Cade Street and
Third prize of £50 was won by Kate Dudman of Heathfield , who attends
All Saints Church.
Vacancy for a Treasurer
We are really sorry that our super efficient treasurer Johnny Gibbs who really
has been a power–house through-out the eighteen months of our existence
, and without whom we would not have reached our target, is leaving us to go
to live in Dorset. We wish him and Julie a quiet life!!
We need another treasurer, so if there’s anyone out there who’s willing to join us and who is willing to look after the money, please get in touch with Roger on 862618. or Shineen on 863160.
